XDS Astana Development Team rider Gleb Syritsa won the opening prologue of Tour of Rhodes.
The stage race started today with a prologue of 5.1 kilometers in Rhodes, Greece. Gleb Syritsa completed the distance in 6 minutes and 10 seconds with an average speed of 49.622 km/h.
“I felt good in the morning and in these kinds of short prologues you need to be able to maintain some serious power from start to finish. It’s nice to start the Tour of Rhodes with a victory, but it would be even better to continue winning. We will try to defend the leader’s jersey tomorrow, there is a chance that the stage will end with a bunch sprint, so we need to be in front to try to win again”, — said Gleb Syritsa after the finish.
